The Future of Culture: Exhibit 1A, 1B, 1C…
The Center Student Cohort is producing an exhibition series to explore the meaning of CCA's slogan "The Future of Culture," and to contribute to the campus dialogue about the issues it raises. This exhibit is part one of a two part series that will culminate next spring at a larger venue.
Exhibit - February 12 through 16. Gallery hours Tues–Sat., 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

Learning Lab: Grant Writing Workshop
Grant-writing workshop for CCA Community Student Fellows and anyone interested in learning more about the process of grant writing to support community-based art practice.

Whose Education? Teaching, Learning & Creative Practice
This exhibit highlights art and art integrated curricular projects developed and implemented by CCA students from the Art Education Teaching Practices course in collaboration with Far West School.
Exhibit - April 23 through July 30, 9a.m. –5p.m. weekdays.

Far West Spring Art Show: Exhibition & Performance
This annual event celebrates the Center’s Mentorship Program partnership with Far West School. Featuring performing and visual art work of 9-12th grade students, including multimedia installations and a fashion show!

Mixing It Up: East Oakland School of the Arts
Exhibition of creative work in a variety of media from East Oakland School of the Arts 10th grade students who have been collaborating with CCA faculty member John Leanos and CCA students in a special mentorship class.

“What's the Big Idea?”
CCA Students Collaborate with Bay Area Youth & Community Groups.
In response to the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' “Big Ideas”, Community Student Fellows (CSF) work/study students assist young artists as they explore concepts of identity, culture, and humanity. Featuring collaborative work and documentation process between CCA students and youth.
Exhibition: May 22 – June 23

Art Education Workshops
Workshops for teaching artists and K-12 teachers are available through the Art In Education Teaching Institute offered through the Center in partnership with CCA Office of Special Program and the Alameda County Office of Education. A Day in the Life: Conveying Perspectives Through Images and Text
Participants explore different perspectives evident in still photos and then create their own narratives of another’s perspective.

Introduction to Theater of the Oppressed
Theater techniques to address issues of equity and social justice in the classroom.
