an archive-in-progress
Bring in YOUR STORIES, MEMORIES, MEMORABILIA, KEEPSAKES
we will RECORD, DOCUMENT and PHOTOGRAPH, them to shape our living archive.

How to get here
Who Are Bay Area Iranian-Americans?
Oliver Art Center becomes an evolving laboratory for exchange and collaborations between artists as well as a number of invited guests who will provide commentary on historical, cultural and social significance of the collective archives. Selected materials will be shared with the audiences through projections and recordings and other interpretive interactions; creating a continuously changing visual presentation for four days.
We Are Here is a collective art project by visiting artist Taraneh Hemami with visiting scholar Persis Karim and Ali Dadgar, Mahru Elahi, Mohsen Emami-Nouri, Haleh Hatami, Afshean Hessam, Navid Ghaem Maghami, Ardalan Paydar, Bijan Yashar, Termeh Yeghiazarian, Shadi Yousefian.
Workshops
One Day: digital and writing workshops with Mahru Elahi, Haleh Hatami, Taraneh Hemami, Bijan Yashar
Bring in an object of personal significance or a photograph of past or present to explore your personal story with Bay Area Iranian-American artists and writers. You will gain some hands-on experience and hone your skills in creative writing and photo-based image making during the workshops. These workshops are free and open to all.
